Pottery craftsmanship, an ancient tradition available to those who want to discover how the raw matter takes shape and becomes an object
Grottaglie is well known around the world as an important pottery production hub.
This ancient craft has been handed down from one generation to another.
Exclusively for you, our local friend Cosimo will open the doors of his house: a spectacular home-museum with a stunning garden composed of an old colonnade and fig trees.
This place is a treasure chest and Cosimo will proudly show you some archeological findings from the Roman period and other surprises including a Byzantine fresco located in the cave church of Santa Barbara, hidden and undiscovered for many centuries.
At the end of the visit, you will take part in a pottery hands-on workshop at Cosimo’s lab: play with ceramics and create your own piece of art! Last, but not least, enjoy the view from the lab’s terrace while tasting a glass of wine along with some local delicacies.
